PRINTS FOR SALE

Two types of prints are available for purchase “Signed Prints For Sale” and “Vendor Prints For Sale.”  Signed Prints For Sale are ones I printed myself and signed. Generally, only a few prints were ever made before I moved onto the next print. If interested, please contact me directly at <[email protected]> or through this website’s “Contact” tab. Prints are fairly priced and can be paid for via PayPal or Venmo.

Vendor Prints For Sale can be purchased directly on this website and many options are offered including framing via reliable vendors. Please note, these prints are not printed by me and are unsigned.

SIGNED PRINTS FOR SALE

March 2025 marks the end of my printing days. After 47 years of printing, beginning in a wet darkroom and ending with digital, my printing days are over. Many photos from my photo archive are available for purchase. All signed prints were printed by me. NOTE: Even though only a few prints were made and signed, I only photographed one print for the Signed Prints For Sale gallery postings. The actual signature on the print you purchase may vary slightly from the image posted on the website.

VENDOR CREATED PRINTS FOR SALE

A selection of prints for purchase are available through vendors I do business with. Many galleries have a "Visit Shop" option where  a variety of print sizes and framing options are available. These prints are created by reputable outside vendors known for their print and framing qualities. These prints are not signed by me nor do I see them. They are shipped directly from the vendors who create them. However, these vendors offer an affordable alternative with many display options.

Please revisit this website as more vendor print options are added. Also, if you see a print you like, feel free to contact me and I'll make a vendor created print option available. However, print purchases are not available at this time for any of the "Streets of Pittsburgh: 1979-1986" photographs.

Technical  Notes on “Signed Prints For Sale”

 - Gelatin Silver Prints: up until the advent of digital photography and printing, gelatin silver prints were the most commonly used black and white photographic printing process throughout the 20th Century.

The gelatin silver prints, as well as split-toned prints, are from my wet darkroom printing days. Most were printed on Oriental Seagull Fiber Based Paper, Ilford Mutigrade, Ilford Gallerie or Brentmere Bromide Paper. Prints were toned with either selenium or split-toned with sepia and selenium toners. A few are full sepia toned prints. Any toning will be noted.

 - Piezo Prints:“Piezography is a brand of monochromatic inks and software that produce what is unarguably the absolute highest-standard in black and white printing. It was first introduced as a trademarked brand in 2000 and has gone through successive improvements and changes over the years.” - Jon Cone, the inventor of Piezography printing.

The piezo prints were created with K7 Piezography pigment inks on thick archival quality paper. The paper and selenium toned pigment combination creates an outstanding black and white print. When I first began digital printing in 2014, I was amazed at the quality of the K7 Piezography process. I never thought anything could surpass a hand printed darkroom print until I saw a K7 Piezography print. The tones are absolutely amazing!

 - Color Prints are digital ConeColor Prints printed with Jon Cone Color pigment inks which are of archival quality. The color is outstanding!

 - Hand Colored Prints are gelatin silver prints that have been hand colored with Marshall’s Photo Oils. The hand coloring process was very intricate and time consuming. Though only a few prints were made of each image, no two are identical due the intricate amount of hand coloring.

Other Info

All Signed Prints are archival, museum quality, signed on front and many are stamped on the backside with my stamp. Many prints also have notes on the backside in pencil specifying date of photo, date of print and brand of printing paper. In the case where a print does not have a backside stamp nor state type of printing paper, you’ll be notified.

Extreme efforts were made to match the print's tone and hue for website posting, however, depending on one's computer monitor or smart phone screen, the actual tone and hue of the print may vary with each individual computer or device.

Pricing: Prices vary per print. Visit the “Signed Prints For Sale" page for additional information.

Please visit and revisit the prints for sale galleries since the galleries are edited quite often.
